Class Instructor: Dan Schroder
Dan Schroder is the Colorado State University Extension Director in Summit County. He is responsible for staff level administration of the Summit County Wildfire Council, a local stakeholder partnership acting as an advisory group to the Board of County Commissioners. Under Dan’s direction, the CSU Extension office administers wildfire prevention programs in the form of hazardous fuel reduction grants, community wildfire protection implementation, and a residential curbside chipping program. Dan is a community educator who works with a wide range of people, from students in the area schools to elected officials throughout the county and region. Dan previously spent 10 years with Keystone Science School leading teacher training institutes. He is currently serving a third term on the Town of Breckenridge Planning Commission. Dan has called Summit County home for 19 years and couldn’t think of anywhere else he’d rather be in the summer.
